Today's lunch: Salad

Don't you just love salads? I do! Maybe you won't consider this salad healthy but it works for me. It's a lot healthier than what I usually eat during my college semesters.

What's in my salad?

  • Quinoa - I'm asian and I use this as a substitute for white rice! Jam packed with essential amino acids, there is definitely a great source for protein out of this yummy grain :)
  • Avocado - Have you ever tried avocado hair/skin masks?
  • Spring Mix - I love spring mixes because there are some packages that have spinach in them! Spinach is not only yummy but it is good for you as well!
  • Tuna
  • Almond Slices
  • Croutons
  • Won ton Crisps
  • Balsamic Vinegarette  - Just a tiny bit!

History, History, & History

Hayyyyy lovelies!
Hope you are having an amazingly awesome week so far!

This Friday I have a paper due based on nationalism and stuff like that. Yeaaaaah, not the most exciting thing I'm looking forward to for the week.

I also have to work on an advertisement for an event that the Summer Apartment Council is planning.

BUSY BUSY WEEK! I'm gonna try and post up some of my skin & hair routines hopefully soon. OHHH and let's not forget some recent purchases I've made :)

Lacking in the blogging department

Helloooo everyone,

As you can tell from the title of this post, I've been neglecting this blog! AHHH. This past Wednesday I had my first midterm for my summer history class. I pulled an allnighter (literally) because I felt I was not too ready for it. And guess what? I overstudied -.- At least I know I did not fail right?

3 more weeks until summer school is over.
Less than a month until I'm KAUA'I BOUND :)
I. CAN'T. FREAKING. WAIT. I haven't been home for almost 6 months! I'm glad I get to be home for at least 5 weeks even though I still will be super busy.

OHHHH! Before I forget, I did finish the Kaeng Raeng detox I totally forgot to write an update about it. Sorry T_T The detox was overall successful! Not only was I able to fit into my tight ass shorts better (I lost about 5 lbs) but I felt great! My skin's complexion was clearer and I had less clogged pores. My hair was also a lot more smooth. It was an amazing experience. I definitely recommend to people that this is probably one of the best detoxes out there! It can be a bit pricey... that was the one thing I didn't like about the product. Other than that, it was simply wonderful :)

Hope you are all having a fantastic weekend! I know I am :3

Yet another wittle post...

 Hi friends,

It's a beautiful, sunny Saturday here in Nebraska and I feel the need to share positivity today! :)

"The time you spend "away from the desk" will come back to you multiplied in terms of more energy, increased effectiveness, and heightened creativity." -Michael Neill

Sooo...what have I been up to?
This past Monday, June 04, 2012, I started my second summer class. HISTORY! yayyy... NOT. I just finished a CORE requirement to graduate. I took Biomedical Ethics this past May, it counts as a senior perspective/certified writing requirment. Yeah I know, weird stuff that does not make sense. Just when I thought the nightmare of school was over, it began again! Let me tell you...it has been tiring. I have been balancing work, school, volunteering, and an extracurricular activity (Summer Apartment Council) for the past week. I hope this hard work will pay off eventually!

What is Summer Apartment Council? It is part of an organization on campus. I live in an on-campus apartment and I was able to score a position to be part of the council. As a council, we meet once a week or every other week and discuss ways to provide a better life for students living on campus for the summer. It can tend to be quiet at the dorms with everyone leaving for the summer... so why not plan events to keep people happy?! :) I love being part of such a wonderful organization, IRHG. I'm excited to spend part of my summer to work with an amazing group of people to provide what's best for students.

Anywho, with this hectic schedule under my belt, I always look forward to the weekend. It's great to have some time to yourself and to relax and enjoy life with friends, family, etc. The quote I added helps me to stay positive during tough situations and to remember that there is always a positive outlook to life no matter what. We all need time to breathe and make time for ourselves to make sure our mind is healthy and happy. Stress free also allows our bodies to be relaxed - better hair growth & clear skin! :] I hope everyone is having a great summer so far! You deserve it.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post!

Quote of the Day

“The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself.”
- Franklin D. Roosevelt

We are all afraid of many things - change, the future, giving up attachments, etc. I know I am honestly afraid of various things/situations that come up in my everyday life. Having fear is what holds me back on enjoying and getting the most out of life. Positivity is key

Fear is just an illusion we create with our minds. Embrace life and live a little :)

Second post of the day?! I'm on a roll :)

Tip of the Day/Words of Advice:

"All the efforts you are making will ultimately pay off."

So true :) Keep believing in yourself even though times get hard and everything seems impossible. You are never alone and hope is always around the corner!

Hope you had a great Memorial Day friends! :]

Carpe Diem.

Carpe Diem.

Or in Latin, "Seize the Day", is probably an inspirational quote for my everyday lifestyle. I need inspiration from time to time and I always tell myself, Carpe Diem. We always need motivation to keep us going in life especially to reach our ambitions and goals.

My current goals for the rest of 2012: Lose weight (at least 10-20 lbs!), get into pharmacy school for the following fall, eat healthy (THIS IS A MUST), learn how to cook good food, & get back into painting.
Throughout the years, I learned anything can be achieved as long as the heart and mind believes it. Hard work and determination can get anyone anywhere they desire. It is definitely funny how the things we least expect can happen.. miraculous surprises just seem to come out of nowhere.

I want to travel the world one day and see everything, I want my eyes to experience the world's beauty. Does anyone else want to travel and see amazing scenery? Or is there something we want to achieve but don't know where to start? You're not alone. Only you can make that difference in your life. Asking people for advice is always good, but no one can fix your problems or achieve your goals for you. Pace yourself each day at small tasks to achieve your goal. If your goal is to ace that next exam, study each day even if it's only 30 minutes because those 30 minutes can make a huge difference. NO CRAMMING AND PROCRASTINATION! We all tend to put off our tasks and things to do and it does not help us at all. Believe in yourself and always stay positive.

To all those who are also trying to lose weight, dealing with personal issues, and more ... here is some motivation :)

Love always,
